What Airffic News is

The fastest way to read the news is to scan the headlines and open only what you want. Airffic News takes headline and time from the RSS feeds of the sources you choose and puts them in one list in time order. The article itself is read on the source's own page. No summaries, no recommendations, no ads.

Three Japanese sources are included by default: NHK's top news, new items from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and ITmedia. Add any RSS URL, trade press, a city council, a company blog, and it joins the same list. Your source list is stored on your device and is not sent to the server.

If you want to summarize an article, paste it into Airffic Summary. The app itself is currently in Japanese; an English interface is on the roadmap.

How to use it

  1. 1Read the listOpen the page and the headlines from the default sources appear in time order.
  2. 2Add a sourceEnter a name and the RSS URL and press "add". Remove sources one at a time.
  3. 3Read on the original siteTap a headline and the source's page opens in a new tab.

Questions

Where do I find a site's RSS URL?
Many sites show it in the footer or under an "RSS" link. If you cannot find it, adding /feed or /rss to the site's URL often works.
Can I read the full article here?
No. Only headline and link are shown; the article is read on the source's page. This respects the source's copyright and revenue.
Are there recommendations or summaries?
No. It only sorts by time. For a summary, paste the article into Airffic Summary.
Do I need to sign in?
No. Your source list is stored on your device only and is not sent to the server.
