What Airffic PDF is

Merging and splitting PDFs is something you need a few times a month, and each time it means installing something or uploading your files to some website. Airffic PDF merges, extracts and reorders pages inside the browser and never sends the files anywhere.

Select several PDFs, put them in order, and "merge in this order". From a single PDF, extract pages by writing a range such as "1-3,5". Combining a quote with a drawing, sending only the relevant pages of a contract, swapping the photo pages of an inspection report: for jobs of that size, this is enough.

There is no text editing, no annotation, no signing, no compression and no OCR. Encrypted PDFs are handled as far as they can be opened. Processing uses pdf-lib, an open-source library, running inside this page. The app itself is currently in Japanese; an English interface is on the roadmap.

How to use it

  1. 1Choose PDFsOne or several. They appear in a list.
  2. 2ReorderMove with the up and down arrows. "Remove" takes one off the list.
  3. 3Merge or extractSeveral files: "merge in this order". One file: write pages like "1-3,5" and "extract".
  4. 4Downloadmerged.pdf or pages.pdf is downloaded.

Questions

Are files sent to a server?
No. Merging and extraction happen entirely inside this page, in your browser.
Can I delete pages?
Extract the pages you want to keep, which amounts to deleting the rest. To drop page 3 of 10, write "1-2,4-10".
What about password-protected PDFs?
Handled as far as they can be opened. Files encrypted against viewing may not be processable.
What about large files?
Processing uses your device's memory, so files of several hundred megabytes may stall. Tens of megabytes is a reasonable guide.
Do I need to sign in?
No.
