What Airffic Scan is

You need a way to turn paper into a PDF even without a scanner. Receipts, contracts, handwritten notes, instructions on site. Airffic Scan takes photos from your phone, pushes them toward black and white for legibility, fits them to A4 and makes one PDF. One photo per page, as many as you like.

Processing happens inside this page (the browser); neither the photos nor the PDF are sent anywhere. Photos are shrunk to 2000 px on the long edge, and grayscale plus contrast adjustment brings out the text. It is not suited to color drawings or photographs; it is for paper with text on it.

There is no automatic deskew, no corner detection and no OCR. Shoot straight on, with the whole sheet in frame, and you get a PDF ready to send. For expense receipts, Airffic Expense reads the date and amount with AI. The app itself is currently in Japanese; an English interface is on the roadmap.

How to use it

  1. 1Photograph the paper"Photograph / choose photo" opens the camera. Straight on, whole sheet in frame. Several sheets if you like.
  2. 2Check the orderPages appear in the order shot. Remove one with the x.
  3. 3Make the PDF"Make N-page PDF". scan.pdf is downloaded.

Questions

Are photos sent to a server?
No. Processing and PDF creation happen entirely inside this page, in your browser.
Is the PDF text-searchable?
No. It is an image PDF. OCR is a future candidate.
Does it straighten a tilted photo?
Not automatically. Shoot straight on with the whole sheet in frame.
Can I keep color?
Not yet; it pushes toward black and white to make text legible. For color drawings or photos, use Airffic Photo together with Airffic PDF.
Do I need to sign in?
No.
