What Airffic Split is

Arguments over splitting the bill are rarely about arithmetic; they are about nobody having written down who paid for what. In Airffic Split you record, per gathering, who paid how much for what, and at the end it tells you who owes whom, with the fewest transfers. Trips, dinners, group purchases.

Participants are remembered after the first entry. If a payer is not yet in the group, they are added automatically. Settlement is computed from the difference between what each person advanced and their share, matching those who are owed against those who owe. A three-person trip is included as an example.

There is no payment or request function. Look at the result and each person transfers their share. Records stay on your device without signing in; sign in and the same gatherings open on another device. The app itself is currently in Japanese; an English interface is on the roadmap.

How to use it

  1. 1Name the gathering and the peopleA name (say, "September trip") and the participants, separated by commas.
  2. 2Add each paymentWho paid, how much, for what. One entry per payment.
  3. 3See who owes whomTotals and the transfers that settle everything. Each person then pays their share.

Questions

Can shares differ per person?
Not yet; only equal splits. Weighting, such as less for someone who did not drink, is a future candidate.
Can I send money through it?
No. It stops at telling you who owes whom.
Can I keep several gatherings separate?
Yes. Settlement is per gathering; switch between them at the top.
Do I need to sign in?
No. Without signing in, records stay on this device. Sign in and they are saved to your account. Sharing with participants is a future candidate.
